• Who is Carolina Precision Switchgear?
  Carolina Precision Switchgear’s is a diversified group of technical directors, supervisors and technicians who have teamed together to create a comprehensive electrical testing company. Formerly working for a major southeast utility company with  nuclear, fossil and hydro circuit breakers, switchgear, power factor and relay testing, these three principal’s share over 100 years of field experience.

• What circuit breaker do you service?
  All major brands, including but not limited to: ABB, Westinghouse, General Electric, Allis Chalmers, Square D and Cutler Hammer

• Do you have technicians that can remove covers from energized switchgear to perform infrared survey inspections?
  Yes, CPS keeps a qualified staff of electrical technicians who have been arc flash trained and can remove your covers with the switchgear energized.

• Can you upgrade a low voltage circuit breaker with OD type tripping devices to a new solid state tripping unit?
  Yes, we can retrofit your aging tripping devices. CPS can recommend a tripping device for you application or retrofit with your required unit.

• Can Carolina Precision Switchgear perform on site circuit breaker service?
  Yes, we are also a mobile company that can perform circuit breaker repair and refurbishments at your facility or ours.

• Does my equipment need to be shut down to perform the infrared thermography inspection?
  No, because all equipment must be operating during our inspection. All electrical and mechanical equipment should be under full load during the inspection.

• What will I receive with an infrared thermography survey?
  You will receive photo quality pictures and a full report analyzing your equipment or building.
